Alan Meaney: Audio Producer & Sound Artist

I started out on radio at age 16 and absolutely loved it, so I wanted to explore this passion in my work. I have worked for radio stations, including Athlone Community Radio, Flirt FM, RTE Jr and RTE Documentary on One and freelance for over ten years. I am based in Galway in the West of Ireland and I also work remotely.

One of the best parts of my job is collaborating with people. I enjoy working closely with them to translate their ideas into engaging audio, whether it’s tracing Tom Crean’s footsteps or recording poets in unique soundscapes.

I have years of experience in making radio, podcasts, sound art and as a media trainer. I won bronze for radio drama at the Irish Radio Awards 2018 (IMRO) and have been shortlisted for seven European Radio Drama awards and for the Headline Mental Health Media Awards. My work has been broadcast on RTÉ, Newstalk, Resonance FM (UK), DW (Germany) and various commercial and community stations.

I can help you to make your podcast sound amazing and connect with your audience. I take you through all the steps of getting your podcast up and running from planning, format, all the know-how you need, equipment and technical help, audio hosting and launching your show on podcast platforms like Apple, Google and Spotify.
